Tested & Proven

We Don't Make Claims. We Prove Them.

Anyone can put a number on a bottle. The ceramic coating market is full of big talk, 10-micron thickness myths, hardness ratings pulled out of thin air, and "lasts a lifetime" promises with nothing behind them.

We do it differently. Every claim we make about Magnum is backed by either years in the real world or a third-party lab with our name on the certificate. Here is exactly how our coatings are tested, what we have already proven, and what we are validating right now.

8 Years in the Australian Sun

There is no harsher test bench than an Australian summer. So we built one.

We left a few coated panels out in the open, fully exposed, for 8 years. No garage. No cover. Just relentless UV, heat, rain and dust doing their worst, the same conditions your vehicle faces every single day.

Eight years on, those panels still bead and sheet water to a very high standard. The hydrophobics are intact. That is not a lab simulation or an accelerated estimate. That is real time, real sun, real proof.

800+ Wash Cycles and Still Going

Field testing tells you how a coating ages. Lab testing tells you how it handles abuse.

We run our coatings through internal lab-based wash machines that replicate the mechanical stress of repeated washing, the brushes, the friction, the chemical contact. Our panels have cleared more than 800 wash cycles and held their finish.

For context, if you washed your car once a week, that is over 15 years of washing. The coating keeps performing long after most products have worn through.

SGS 10H Hardness, Certified

Hardness matters because it protects your paint from swirls, light scratches and wash marring. This is where our polysilazane glass resin earns its place.

We submitted Magnum to SGS, one of the most respected independent testing bodies in the world, for pencil hardness testing. The result was a 10H rating with no visual marks, no cracking and no break in the integrity of the coating.

That is not our number. It is SGS's number, on an official certificate. Most coatings claim 9H. Ours is independently verified one step beyond.

Full pH Resistance, From 1 to 14

Your coating does not just face water. It faces bird droppings, bug splatter, bore water, harsh chemicals and acidic fallout. A coating that cannot handle that range is a coating that fails early.

We are currently running further validation with SGS across acidic, alkali and pancreatin testing, the standard approach used to simulate aggressive chemical and organic contamination. The goal is to certify that our coatings hold up across the entire pH scale, from pH 1 to pH 14.

This work is in progress, and we will publish the certificates the moment they are signed off. We would rather show you the result than promise it.

Reformulated Obsidian S1+ and Luminous X

Being good is not the same as being finished. We went back into the lab and revisited the formulations behind both Obsidian S1+ and Luminous X.

The focus was on the things you actually feel and see. We have improved the slickness, sharpened the hydrophobicity and lifted the water contact angle, so the coatings shed water faster, stay cleaner longer and feel noticeably slicker to the touch.

These are not cosmetic tweaks. They are measurable performance gains built on the same polysilazane glass resin chemistry that already passed SGS hardness testing.

1000+ Hours of Xenon UV Weathering

The fastest way to spot a weak coating is to watch what UV does to it over time. Cheap formulations yellow. They go hazy. They microfracture under heat and sun.

To prove ours do not, we are currently undertaking an SGS UV weathering test under xenon lights for more than 1000 hours. Xenon-arc exposure is the recognised method for simulating long-term sun and heat in a controlled, accelerated environment.

The test is designed to demonstrate that Magnum does not yellow and does not microfracture under sustained UV and thermal stress. Once again, the results will come straight from SGS, not from us.

Why This Matters

We field test in the real Australian sun. We stress test in the lab. We certify with SGS. And when we are still validating, we tell you it is in progress instead of pretending it is done.

That is the difference between marketing and proof. Magnum Ceramic Coating is built on the second one.
